2013 Senior Tribute

 

Jessy Davis

 

Parents:   Grayson and Julia Davis, Kurt and Suzanne Fisher, and Cally Ross

 

After HS:  going to college and majoring in psychology

 

Highlight of her Senior Year:  all the good laughs with the girls and finally beating Stansbury!!

Advice to teammates:   to not get frustrated.  It goes by way too fast, and you don't want to waste time being mad.

After HS:  Serve an LDS mission and then attend Utah State University

 

Highlight of her Senior Year:  My favorite thing has been learning from my teammates and coaches how to improve my volleyball skills and character

 

Favorite quote:  "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain."

 

Advice to teammates:   keep a positive attitude because it is a lot more fun and you improve a lot quicker if you don't get super frustrated.


As I have spent time contemplating the remarkable qualities that you each have , I have noticed that there are many commonalities.    As captains of the team this year,  each of you has lead in kindness.  People don't always remember what you say or do, but rather how you made them feel.  I can truly speak for your teammates that they all felt your friendship and love you because of it.  The both of you have been so positive, open for change, and coachable over the years.  The thing I will miss the most are those big smiles.  No matter the mood on the court, in practice, or sideline timeouts, you two always had the most infectious smile on your faces.  It has been a joy.  Lastly, considering both on and off the court, Lisa and Jessy, you have been an example to me in my life for showing great resilience. I am honored to have had the chance to coach and learn from you.  Great job and good luck in all you pursue.   - Coach O
